Facebook moving into video content

Facebook is trialling a "related videos" feature that works like Googles YouTube. What is being trialled is a way once you have finished watching a video in their mobile News Feed, Facebook recommends other similar, trending videos. At the moment the feature is only available to a select number of iOS and Android users.

Facebook Chases Google

Video content is now more important than ever across the social sphere, and its also becoming increasingly important to Facebook. Over the past year Facebook has begun tweaking the News Feed to deliver more relevant videos to users.

So why is Facebook interested in video, well it all has to do with ads and income generation, which means that this trial is paving the way for video advertisements, which Facebook is gradually rolling out.

Looking into the not too distant future, we could see related videos featured after watching a video ad!
