Twitter gets ready to roll out new advertising units

It has been recently reported in the media that Twitter is on the verge of launching to its advertisers 15 new types of ad units. So it won’t be long before we see calls to action like “shop now” , “download now" in our Twitter streams.

With Twitter being a public company, it  needs to focus on increasing its user numbers and more importantly finding ways of generating sales to meet the expectations of the analysts.  These new ad units will assist in increasing revenue for Twitter, which has more than doubled to US$219.6 million in Q4 2013. Twitter’s advertising has been reported as being more cost-effective than Facebook.

As the social users across the globe understand that advertising is part-and-parcel of free social media they will come accustom to the different types of media advertising that these social channels will be adopting now and into the future.
